Sporting star Dean Macey is crossing his fingers and hoping his hamstring holds.
If it doesn't the 26-year-old Canvey decathlete fears he will not make it through his last chance to qualify for this year's Olympics.
It's Macey's last chance to book a place with the UK athletics squad in Athens this weekend.
The final opportunities to reach the Olympic entry standards are being held in Hexham, Northumberland, and Spain - Macey turned down the more exotic location, because he doesn't like flying.
And despite not having competed for two years because of injury Macey, who has won silver and bronze at the World Athletics Championships, is feeling confident.
He said: "So long as the hamstring holds I'm miles good enough to qualify because the qualifying scores are really low - it's just whether I can finish or not. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping my hamstring holds - if it doesn't then that's when we've got a problem."
