Steve Ward, Canvey Island's popular longest-serving player, will have at least one more season at Park Lane.
The central defender, who joined Gulls from Grays Athletic, has signed a new one-year contract which will tie him to the club until May next year.
Ward is about to enter his ninth campaign with Jeff King's men and is approaching his 400th game for the club.
Schoolteacher Ward combines his playing activities by writing a highly entertaining match programme column under the name of "the Ginger Sex God."
