Concerned business bosses are battling against a bid to to build a travellers' site on their doorstep.

More than 50 firms on Colchester Business Park have voiced opposition to the proposals.

Three potential sites have been earmarked for travellers by Colchester Council, two of which are close to the business park at Severalls.

Company bosses are expected to present a report to the council tomorrow protesting against the plans.

Chamber of commerce manager Jason Berry said: "We have about 50 businesses putting their names to this report. There are lots of fears, including security, theft, rubbish and litter. We are asking the council not to put the site here for those reasons."
