Southend's annual Business Relay takes place tomorrow starting and finishing at the Cliffs Pavilion.

It gets underway at 6.30pm and will take a route along Marine Parade, down Pier Hill, back along the Western Esplanade and then up Shorefield Road and back to the Cliffs.

The laps are just over two miles and the five man teams will cover about 10.5 miles in total. The event is once again being arranged by Rickard Keen and sponsored by Hi-Tec.

Organisers are grateful for the support they are receiving from Southend Council, the Police, the Cliffs Pavilion, St. John Ambulance, Twincliff Scaffolding and all their other helpers.

More than 30 teams are taking part and the proceeds will go to three local charities - Peaceful Place, The New Empire Theatre and The Southend Fund.

The length of the course means that almost any reasonably fit person can participate and the testing part of the course is Shorefield Road and back to the Cliffs Pavilion. The last two races raised more than £8,000.
