A schoolgirl was airlifted to hospital after complaining of stomach pains at school.
An ambulance was called to Gable Hall School in Stanford-le-Hope yesterday for the 12-year-old. Ambulance operations manager, Lee Gillam, examined her and wasted no time calling the air ambulance which landed in the playground.
He said: "It flew her and her mother to Basildon Hospital. It seemed wise to act quickly."
The girl was suffering from a pre-existing condition.
