Vic Hennessy is just one step away from retaining his mixed fours title at the Southend Men's Open Bowls Tournament.
Hennessy beat Wickford Royal British Legion clubmate G Folkard's line-up 34-4. An amazing game saw Folkard go 4-0 up after the first two ends before the defending champion won 16 on the trot for a 35-4 win.
In Saturday's final (9.30am) Hennessy will meet Rochford's Brady team who saw off Alf Newman (Carreras) 21-17.
Yesterday's action saw the fours played up to the quarter-final stages.
