The bevy of 16-year-olds were on their way to Gable Hall School in Corringham for the Year 11 ball.

Dubbing themselves the "Magnificent Seven", the girls celebrated at Stock Brook Manor in Billericay for an evening of dancing and fun.

The seven friends were Maxine Blackshaw of Orsett, Jodie Wilson of Fobbing, Claire McMahon and Georgina Bowen from Corringham, Stanford's Natalie Dunn, Sarah Wilkins from Corringham and Chelsea Wilkins from Fobbing. After the ball the crowd went back to Maxine's home and celebrated until 8am.

Most of the girls are going on to Palmers College in Grays while Maxine intends to pursue her desire to be a hairdresser with an apprenticeship at Toni & Guy's shop in Brentwood.
