A construction worker suffered fatal head injuries today after he was crushed on a building site in Purfleet.
The man, believed to be in his twenties, was working in a trench when he was hit on the head by a bucket which police believe had swung loose from a digger.
Police are investigating and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
