Jean Alder, of the Thorpe Bay School, has been battling since January to turn the school around following the resignations of two previous headteachers.
The school, in Southchurch Boulevard, is set to be taken off the special measures list before the end of the year because great strides have been made.
Today, Ms Alder offered advice to colleagues at Prittlewell Technology College in Southend, which is the second school in the borough labelled as failing by Government inspectors.
Ms Alder said: "The key to what is needed is good teaching by well qualified and experienced staff."
