A man accused of indecently assaulting a door-to-door saleswoman appeared in court dressed in a blue surfing wetsuit and tracksuit bottoms.
Gabriel Calvete, of Appleford Court, Pitsea, pleaded not guilty at Basildon Magistrates' Court to trying to force himself on a woman in March this year.
The middle-aged man, of Spanish origin, was arrested soon after the saleswoman contacted police over an alleged assault at his home. Prosecuting solicitor Sara French outlined the case to the magistrates, who agreed the case should be passed to crown court.
Calvete will reappear on September 1 for a committal hearing. He was released on bail.
