The event - a 5km sponsored run round Lower Castle Park - raised money for Cancer Research UK and was won by Charlotte Knappett from Great Bromley.
The oldest runner was 84 and one woman took part in a wheelchair, winning huge cheers by getting to her feet to cross the finish line.
Gemma Cookham, of Cancer Research UK, said the gruelling Tesco-sponsored event, which was supported by the Evening Gazette, was a success.
She said: "It went very, very well. We had fantastic support again from the people of Colchester, the participants and the volunteers."
