Thieves stole more than 1,000 gift boxes of designer perfume from a lorry while the driver was asleep.
The perfume, which is not yet available in the shops, was swiped at around 2am on Saturday while the lorry was parked in Fulmar Way, Wickford.
The driver woke as the thieves escaped. He spotted five or six men using a lorry to transport the goods. In total 1,112 boxes of Gucci Rush Two were stolen.
The perfume comes in a pink box and is exclusively supplied to a Wickford logistics company.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "It is thought the thieves may try to off-load the haul at local car boot sales."
