Colchester United have bolstered their defence with the signing of ex-Ipswich Town man Wayne Brown.
He joins Liam Chilvers as the second former loanee to make a permanent move to Layer Road.
Brown had one more year to run on his contract with Coca-Cola Championship side Watford. However, the defender and the Hornets came to an agreement to let him sign for the U's.
He has signed a two-year deal with the Layer Road side after impressing Colchester supremo Phil Parkinson in his second loan spell at the club at the end of last season. He had already pulled on a U's shirt back in 1997 when on loan from Ipswich.
