The biggest open art show in the county opened at the weekend, featuring a number of award-winning works from Southend artists.
The 46th annual Essex Open Exhibition is showing in the gallery in Station Road, Westcliff.
This year there were about 500 entries from artists all over Essex and 155 paintings, paints, drawings and sculptures have been selected to go into the gallery for the show, which runs until September 11.
Eight prizes, sponsored by local businesses, have been awarded to the best entries. Winners included Ian de Vare, Judith Coombs, and David Lintine, all from Leigh, Stephen Jordan, from Westcliff, and Rod Steward, from Foulness.
