A missing labrador was lovingly reunited with her heartbroken owner after an Evening Echo appeal.
Home sweet home - Lesley Miller is reunited with labrador Tilly Picture: STEVE O'CONNELL 2NMSQ1
Nine-year-old Tilly went missing two weeks ago after a door was accidentally left open.
After frantic phone calls to the police, dog warden, local vets and neighbours, owner Lesley Miller, of London Road, Pitsea, finally contacted the Echo to ask for help.
She said: "I can't believe the response I had from people. It was simply amazing."
It turned out Tilly, a golden retriever, had been lovingly cared for by a young woman who had found her tied to a lamp post in the Burnt Mills industrial estate on Sunday and taken her home.
Lesley said: "I can't thank this woman enough. She thought the dog had been dumped there and was asking around all week if anyone had lost a dog. It was only until she saw the piece in the paper she found my number."
