Essex Eels achieved their long-awaited first win in National League Three after a rollercoaster ride against fellow league newcomers Carlisle.
Despite the difficulties of switching the game away from their usual Basildon Rugby Club home, Eels quickly settled in at Redden Court School, Romford, and made a flying start.
Coach Stuart Hogg was delighted with his side: "They put me through the wringer on the day but in the end it was fantastic," he said. "We had our biggest crowd of the season and they were on the pitch at the end.
"Now we've got the monkey off our back, we've ended the losing habit and hopefully it's time to start a winning habit for the club."
