Southend United manager Steve Tilson today blasted a new FIFA directive which limits the number of substitutions the Shrimpers can make in their pre-season friendlies.
Blues visit East Thurrock this weekend but will only be allowed to make six changes to their original starting line-up under the revamped guidelines.
"It's crazy," slammed Tilson. "For the first two friendlies I was planning to field two different line-ups for each half and now I'm being told I can't do that.
"The lads have been working hard back in training but some of them are going to have to play 90 minutes in their first game back and it's ridiculous.
"We've got two games in three days and this has really affected our pre-season plans."
