Southend Airshow will not be losing the Red Arrows, its major attraction.
Defence chiefs have confirmed that the RAF aerobatics team will not be scrapped as part of a cash-cutting scheme.
Howard Briggs leader of Southend Council, said: "I'm delighted with the decision."
