Fabian Wilnis believes Ipswich Town can learn a valuable lesson from shock Euro 2004 winners Greece.

The Dutchman and his Blues team-mates kick-start their pre-season friendly campaign tomorrow when they visit Peterborough United (3pm).

And Wilnis, fresh from penning a new one-year deal with the club, told the Evening Gazette: "I think we can really learn from Greece.

"They've shown what you can achieve if you stick together and really put your mind to the task in hand.

"They haven't got any superstars but they were so well-organised and defended brilliantly.

"In the end, they were worthy winners - not least because they kept three straight clean-sheets en route to their win in the final against Portugal.

"It will be the same with us next season.

"People will look at us and think we've got a weaker squad than last season, because of the players who have left this summer.

"Whether that's true or not remains to be seen, but we've got to stick together and stay focused about what we can achieve."
