At 3am on Sunday, 18 pupils aged from 16 to 18 from Cecil Jones High School will leave Heathrow airport with two teachers. They will stop over in Amsterdam before flying on to Nairobi.
In charge is drama and media teacher Rebecca Howard. She said: "The numbers are roughly half girls and half boys and they will be in Kenya for four weeks.
"They will be living with the Masai people, spotting giraffes, climbing MountKenya, white water rafting and learning about the culture.
"Some are going as part of their Duke of Edinburgh gold awards."
