Female bowling enthusiasts from the borough of Thurrock celebrate a quarter of a century of competition this summer.
Thurrock Area Ladies Bowling Association was formed in the spring of 1979 when members of seven local clubs got together.
Females from Shell, Thurrock, Tilbury, Billet, Orsett, United Services and Stock met and formed TABLA.
Nearly 50 founding members met for the first time in April 1979 and elected Muriel Larkin of Shell as their founding president.
TALBA now boasts 14 clubs and has 300 members, who compete in three league divisions, competitions and friendly games.
Thurrock takes on the Essex County Ladies on Thursday, September 2, at the United Services club in Stanford.
