Nurses will swap walking the ward for walking the paths to boost funds.
About 15 staff from Great Bentley Ward at Colchester General Hospital will step out next mont for the ward.
The group will trek the 15-and-a-half miles from Colchester to Brightlingsea to raise cash for a £2,400 patient monitoring machine.
Great Bentley Ward looks after patients recovering from surgery and the machine will help nurses monitor their conditions.
