A wildlife group will be helping Castle Point schools set up their own little nature reserves.
Robert Drake Primary in Thundersley and Jotmans Hall Primary in Benfleet have approached the Castle Point Wildlife Action Group to help them set up a miniature conservation area.
The aim is to teach pupils about nature and how to protect the environment.
The wildlife group has spent the past two and a half years gradually improving North Benfleet Hall Woods. It is now interested in using its expertise and volunteers in other nature reserves around the borough.
It is now welcoming the chance to interest young children in nature preservation.
The group's Graham Ash said: "Both schools are interested in setting up a small area within their sites as a nature reserve.
"We can help with that, especially with the planting of various trees and shrubs. It's time-consuming for teachers and parents."
A spokeswoman for Jotmans Hall Primary said the school was considering an interactive garden that would form part of the curriculum, although it was "still at the very early stages".
