Getting the most out of Billericay's twinning link with the French town of Chauvigny is the aim of a new committee launched by one of the town's twinning association.
The committee currently has 16 members who have an interest in France and more people who feel they have a French connection are being urged to join.
Members of the Billericay Twinning Association officially signed a twinning charter with their French counterparts in April.
Committee chairman, David Clark said: "The committee aims to be a catalyst for improved links between Billericay and Chauvigny.
"We have already had a request from Chauvigny to make contact with choral societies in Billericay and if any organisation in Billericay would like to contact their counterparts in Chauvigny, we can arrange this.
"This can be particularly useful to schools who would like to explore the opportunity of exchange trips."
Anyone who would like further information is asked to call Mr Clark on 01277 625448.
