A village ambulance station is to be redeveloped to provide staff with some of the best possible training facilities.
Tendring councillors have agreed the major plans for Weeley ambulance station, which will see it increase in size and be completely refitted.
Work is due to start next month and will take about three months to complete.
During the scheme, staff will work out of a demountable unit at the site.
Estates manager Geoff Macro said Essex Ambulance Trust was working hard to move training to the area that staff are based so it is more convenient for them and cost effective for the Trust.
