The wife of escaped convict Colin Marco said she has not been in contact with her husband since he fled in December.
The 60-year-old crooked accountant, from Thorpe Bay, was jailed last June for four years and ten months for swindling £500,000 from clients over a decade.
He was sent to HMP Ford open prison in Sussex and was granted agreed leave, but failed to return on December 2.
He has been on the run from the authorities ever since.
His wife Deana, who is believed to have been either living or spending time in south Essex, was contacted by the Evening Echo on her mobile phone.
She said: "I haven't seen him at all."
