Rayleigh Town Archery Club and Deanes Sports College aces have smashed the British Schools record.
Paul Lees (541), Alexander Johns (534), Claire Tayeg (531) and John Guiton (528) set a new record of 2134 to beat the previous best of 2050 set by Kent's Kelsey School in January 1995.
Their success came as a large contingent of archers from the Thundersley-based club and college contested the British Schools AAS Championship at Bexleyheath, Kent.
Emily Reader won an under-14 girls recurve gold medal, while Leah Fair took top spot in the under-nine girls' recurve and Craig Solkhongot won gold in the under-16 boys' bare bow category.
Rayleigh Town's medal haul also included silver medals for Tayeg (girls' under-18), Luca Fair (girls' under-14) and Harry Hague (boys' under-nine). And there were bronze medals for Johns (boys' under-16), Guiton (boys' under-16), Jack Hutchins (boys' under-14) and James Phillips (boys' under-14).
