Police and RSPCA officers have launched an investigation after two dogs were shot and beaten to death and dumped in a hedgerow.

The gruesome discovery was made by a young horse rider, who spotted the corpses of the two beagles on a track off Ray Lane at Ramsey.
It was close to the spot where ten dead foxes were found nailed to a post almost six years ago.
RSPCA inspector Jim Farr today appealed for help to find those responsible for the beagles death.
He believes they belonged to the Stour Valley Beagle Hounds at Ipswich, who reported three of their dogs missing on January 7.
One was killed in a road accident near Wix the same day but the other two had not been found.
Anyone who can help should contact the RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty and advice line on 0870 5555999 and leave a message for Insp Farr or call Harwich Police on 01255 241312
