The ex-wife of child pervert Alan Huggins said handing him over to the police was the right thing to do.
Huggins, 54, formerly of Cambridge Road, Canvey, was jailed for eight months after he pleaded guilty at Southend Crown Court to 21 charges of possessing and distributing images of child porn.
Sentencing, Judge Hayward Smith said: "Children would not be so abused if there was no market for the type of photographs you had and if there were no people interested in looking at them."
Huggins, now living in Norfolk, will remain on the sex offenders register for ten years.
His ex-wife, who wants to remain anonymous, said she found images of child pornography on Huggins's home computer after she suspected he was having an affair.
She said: "He was always on the computer but I didn't have a clue how to work it. When I finally got on to it, all these images started appearing.
"It was sick and disgusting. There were pictures of young kids. I phoned the police.
"It was bad enough to discover he was having affairs, but I was gobsmacked about the images. My brain went numb and then into overdrive.
"I hope he gets the help he obviously needs."
