Swimmers with disabilities are poised to make a splash in aid of cancer research.
A dozen members of the Castle Point disabled group have started training for the charity splashathon.
Their efforts will be propelled by the memory of their dedicated mini-bus driver, Derek Franking, who died of the disease last year.
The swimathon will be held at Runnymede Pool, in Kiln Road, Thundersley in March and Carol Sales is one of the dedicated volunteers currently in training.
She said: "We first got involved with the swimathon last year after Derek Franking died of cancer. We decided we wanted to give something back, and as the swimathon is in aid of MacMillan cancer research we thought it was a good thing to get involved."
