A freemasons calendar which dates back more than 100 years has been discovered lying in a mid-Essex street.
The small historic booklet, which resembles a modern day diary, contains lists of subscribers to the fraternity from Maldon, Chelmsford and Colchester.
The 1886 Essex Freemason's Calendar was found at the side of the road by Gillian Cooper, who handed it in to the Gazette's sister paper the Maldon and Burnham Standard in the hope of tracing its owner.
Mrs Cooper, 66, of St Peter's Avenue, Maldon, said: "It must have fallen out of someone's pocket or bag so I am hoping the person will come forward."
