A parish council's demands for the restoration of monthly visits to a nearby sewage works have been backed by a Rochford District Council committee.
The Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on Wednesday evening discussed the issues raised by Stambridge Parish Council.
Its protests over work at the sewage treatment works, noise and odours have been led by councillor Phil Capon.
He said: "They've recommend that our demands go before the policy committee. Then if the visits are restored it will prove there's nothing going on."
A video allegedly showing work to prepare the Stambridge plant for an increase in sewage was not shown.
Anglian Water deny any work to meet extra demand is happening or planned.
