Residents have lodged their opposition over plans to open an Indian takeaway in the area because they fear it will lead to anti-social behaviour.
Residents in and around Challis Lane, Braintree have handed in a petition with more than 150 signatures against the outline planning application to change the use of the building.
Plans for the building, which used to be a car accessory store, are for a takeaway, which will be open seven days a week, including bank holidays, from 11am to 11pm.
Braintree Council's planning department have received a deluge of letters against the planning application.
