The £5.9million regeneration of Southend's Pier Hill will be the first project completed under Thames Gateway funding.
Council officers announced the scheme was on time and in budget and is due to finish as scheduled in July.
It will be the quickest project undertaken using money from Thames Gateway and the first in the region to be fully completed.
The news came as Southend Business and Tourism Partnership was given details of Southend High Street regeneration projects which include new public toilets and hi-tech information points.
