The search is on for youngsters in Essex capable of keeping quiet for The Big Hush, Macmillan Cancer Relief's annual sponsored silence.
The charity is encouraging primary schools and after-school groups all over the country to keep quiet for at least ten minutes and raise money for people living with cancer.
A total of 24 Essex schools have already registered for the scheme.
Eleanor Burgess, Macmillan's Essex community fundraiser said, "We are absolutely delighted that so many children in Essex have decided to get involved."
The Big Hush takes place at the end of Cancertalk Week taking place from February 9 to 13.
Macmillan in Essex is raising £2.5 million to fund more Macmillan nurses and other health professionals, a carers' scheme and buildings for cancer care and treatment.
Schools and after school groups can register for The Big Hush by calling the hotline on 0845 601 1716, log on to www.macmillan.org.uk/bighush or call Eleanor Burgess at the Essex Appeal office on 01245 345280
