Ballards Gore golfers had reasonable weather for their January Stableford, but conditions were better on the Sunday --illustrated by the fact that five of the six winners played on that day.
Mark Mitchell (6) took Division One after collecting 20 points on the way out thanks to eight pars and a bogey.
He really came into his own on the inward half with six pars and birdies on 13, 15 and 18 for 25 points and an overall total of 45.
Mr Consistency Sean Doody (4) continued his run of form in runners-up position with 41 points. He had birdies on seven, eight, 17 and 18, but balanced against this were bogeys on six and 11.
Two players finished on 42 at the top of Division Two. Scott Gamage (14) eventually beat David Kirk (15) on countback -- a performance that was entirely attributable to his hole in one on the par four ninth where he collected an unbeatable six points. Two blobs on the front nine failed to halt his progress.
