A Rayleigh school is launching a new initiative to encourage youngsters to recycle plastic bottles.
One of the pupils researched the idea when the school asked them to think about ways of helping the environment, and also got a good deal on bins which will go around the school.
Sweyne Park school headteacher Kate Spiller said: "The bins will be going on trial from Monday and will be in places such as the canteen and dining room.
"Cleanaway will then remove the bottles on a weekly basis so they can be recycled and we can do our bit for the environment."
