More speed cameras are being put up across south Essex to try to slash the alarming number of road deaths.
The Essex Safety Camera Partnership is installing nine speed cameras and one red-light camera at accident blackspots.
The cameras, which cost an average of £30,000 each, have been paid for by fines from speeding motorists.
Rosemary Welch, the camera partnership's traffic and safety manager, said: "We have given drivers as much information as possible to alert them to the presence of cameras. The vast majority of drivers respect that."
New yellow speed cameras, which will be working within a month, are in:
London Road, Vange
High Road, Vange
On the A127, westbound from Progress Road, Leigh
Greensward Lane, Hockley.
A red-light camera is being installed in Cranes Farm Road, Basildon.
