The future of a prestigious Maldon morris dancing group is "teetering on the brink".
The Blackwater Morris Dancers, who have been representing the town for 15 years, will bite the dust if a second desperate plea for new members is not successful.
Paul Kiff, a founder member of the group, appealed for help through before Christmas and has had some feedback, but is still in need of more members.
Mr Kiff said: "We've had two people come forward but I do not know what's going to happen if we do not get more interest.
"We are still teetering on the brink, I'm afraid."
When the group was first formed, there were about 20 members and the numbers fluctuated in the following years, until two years ago it fell to 12. The group now has six members, but to jig properly at least 12 dancers are needed.
