Caring staff put their best foot forward to raise money so elderly residents can enjoy a visit to the seaside.
Best foot forward - walkers helped raise funds that will pay for outings for people living at Grange Residential Home Picture: STEVE O'CONNELL
Angela Woods, the activity coordinator at The Grange Residential Home, Southend Road, Wickford, who organised the five mile walk from the home to The Barge, Battlesbridge, is hoping to collect £200.
Mrs Woods: "It was quite cold but good fun.
"We did it so we have the money to take the residents out in the summer.
"I hope to take them to Southend and Leigh and maybe Maldon and have a strawberry tea party.
"Travelling by coach and having lunch can be expensive so this will help."
