Only two people have been caught driving while using their mobile phones in Essex.
New laws came into place in December making it illegal to use a hand held phone while in control of a vehicle.
The first stopped in Essex was a lorry driver, who was found to be chatting on his mobile phone as he was pulled over by police for other motoring offences, in the north of the county.
The second was stopped by police in Lower Road, Hockley.
Both are being dealt with by the courts.
