These are the horrific injuries suffered by an 83-year-old when he tripped over an uneven pavement near his home.

Alfred Carter of Jermayns, Basildon, was left with two black eyes, a suspected broken nose and severe bruising on his face after falling outside Adams Fish Bar in Ballards Walk.
The accident happened at around 5pm last Thursday.
He said: "I'm feeling all right but my nose is very sore. I'm writing to the council."
A Basildon Council spokesman said: "We urge the gentleman to report the matter to the council."
