Colchester MP Bob Russell is claiming one of the best voting records in the House of Commons.
He scored top among all opposition MPs in the country for the sixth year running, according to official figures.
The Lib Dem MP took part in 90 per cent of votes.
He said: "I am obviously proud to have retained my first place. While the voting attendance figures do not provide the full picture of how much time an MP is putting in, it is the only published statistic available."
