Residents in South Woodham Ferrers will have more chances to visit the town's police station soon, when the opening hours are extended in almost a two month trial.
Between February 2 and March 28, the station will be open between 9am and 8pm Tuesdays and Wednesday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Chris White, the new inspector at the station, said extending the opening hours part of the way he wanted to improve service for residents.
"We are trying out the extended hours to see what demand there would be. South Woodham is a commuter town and one of the main problems people say they have is that they can never come down to the station because it is only open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday."
