A new way of training tomorrow's teachers is underway in the borough's schools and is working to the benefit of Harold pupils according to education chiefs.
The Government's Graduate Teacher Programme takes university graduates into the classroom arena for first hand teaching experience under the watchful eye of experienced staff.
The scheme began in Havering last year and King's Wood School in Harold Hill was among the first to join the programme.
Graduate teacher Darren Clark has been based at the school since September and is thoroughly enjoying the experience.
He said: "You get a feel for what it is like in a school and build up your experience of what can happen day to day in a classroom. I've really enjoyed it and I can see myself staying at King's Wood if everything works out."
