John McGreal today delivered an urgent message to his Ipswich Town team-mates: "The heat is on to get promotion."

The Blues - sixth in the table - are still heavily involved in the play-off shake-up but have lost three of their last five home League games.

Tomorrow, they hope to bounce back when they entertain Crewe Alexandra in Nationwide League Division One.

And McGreal, who scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Reading, told the Evening Gazette: "The pressure is really on now that we're into 2004.

"We've only got 19 games left and it's down to us to earn and in some cases scramble as many points as possible between now and May.

"Our away form has been good but it's time to start showing more conviction at Portman Road.

"Each individual in the team needs to start improving their game by five per cent."
