A Tory MP is calling for public sector workers in his constituency to send in their examples of waste and bureaucracy across the area.
Southend West MP David Amess said: "Southend needs public services run by the best qualified people - such as doctors, nurses and teachers, in contrast to being controlled by the army of inspectorates and czars which have become the problem rather than the solution.
"Armed with their professional insights, we can apply our energies to rooting out waste and bureaucracy."
Southend West Conservatives will also collect examples of public waste as part of the campaign and forward contributions to a new national panel set up to audit Government waste and inefficiency.
Responses should be sent to Mr Amess at the House of Commons, London, SW1 0AA.
