Police are appealing for information about a serious assault which left a man with a broken jaw that needed a metal plate fitted to repair it.
The victim, a 23-year-old man from Walthamstow, east London, was waiting for friends outside the BP service station in Roundacre, Basildon, when he got involved in an argument with two men and a woman.
One of the men then attacked him, punching him in the face and breaking his jaw in two places.
The incident happened in the early hours of January 3, but police have only just released the details.
Anyone with information should contact PC James Ireland at Basildon police on 01268 532212.
