A councillor is calling for a revamp of the facilities and systems which support bus routes in and around Braintree.
Bocking North councillor Tony Everard claims the conditions of bus shelters and the bus garages in Braintree are of a poor standard and in need of review.
Mr Everard is campaigning for changes to be made by Essex County Council and bus companies who operate routes throughout the town.
He will be meeting with Braintree Council's transport officer tomorrow, who liaises with the relevant parties to discuss his concerns.
Mr Everard said the bus garage in Fairfield Road, which is for sale, was a poor venue for passengers, who queued in bad conditions with little or no shelter.
But he still wants facilities at the bus park in Victoria Street to be improved as well as one drop-off and pick-up point for people coming into Braintree town centre.
He said: "A much more comprehensive system for buses is needed with the bus park being improved."
