Pupils and teachers are celebrating today after being named as one of the top value added schools in the country.
The Honywood Community School, in Westfield Drive, Coggeshall, scored 103.8 in the value added section of this year's GCSE league tables, just a few points behind the top "value added" school which scored 107.5.
Headteacher Simon Mason, said: "Firstly it is about the quality of teaching. You don't get good results without teachers working very hard."
Mr Mason also puts the continued improvements down to the high investment in technology at the school, including the use of 20 new interactive white boards allowing direct access to a computer and the internet.
The school has also introduced work reviews with pupils and their parents to gauge what needs to be done to achieve top results.
